I'm just a touch frustrated....

Tuesday, January 11, 2011

So I'm broke. I have probably like a dollar to my name. I get paid Friday. Everything was going to be fine until I wanted to see if there was anything snacky fro me to eat. Well, everything seems soggy. What? I realize it seems....warm. Everything is soggy and warm. I call my husband for support and I find it unplugged. All my lunches, all my fish, all my lean turkey and chicken, GONE. Utterly gone. I was sickened.

Why is that so bad? I don't have any money till Friday. That was what I was going to eat all week. It's so frustrating. SO frustrating. I binged a bit on m and ms just now. I dropped most of them which means a higher power is saying NO NO NO NO.

Although I have planes to have mini exercise before work using my computer. YAY!

Keep pushin through girl! What does not kill us makes us stronger. I know you can get through the tough time. Whenever I don't have money in the bank I internally stress and don't tell anyone. But don't let the stress eat at you. It is almost Friday!

Oh, I HATE it when this happens. Yep, I check the sofa, around the washing machine, in my middle son's room , in the car under the mats ...anywhere for change ! And it's great that you got the fridge all cleaned out ! Maybe get a few apples and oranges as emergency fruits. Some times I hit the dollar store for really discounted stuff (check the expiration dates). So sorry you had to go thru this...no two ways about it, it is the pitts.HERE'S HOPING YOU HAVE BETTER LUCK THE REST OF THE WEEK AND THE REST OF THE MONTH=!

Thank you everyone for your comments. It's really been a blessing in disguise because I got to clean out the entire fridge today. ^_^ It's bleached and spick and spanned.

Hang in there - I agree with what everyone else said! Raid your cabinets for the stuff that's been hanging out for forever - canned soups/beans/water chestnuts that everyone seems to have a single can of but never uses - time to hunker down and eat that stuff!

I've been there... trust me..you will get through it.. I remember when I had to live on 2 weeks of groceries for $9.

I remember buying a package of hot dogs to have a dog a day, and some chef-boy-RD.

That was in my younger years and I was actually a lot thinner.. lol

Now of course, I buy to much and eat to much.

Just try to make healthy choices to tied you through till pay day. I'll keep you in my prayers..

good luck to you, June emoticon

I'm sooo sorry! I had the same thing happen several times when I was still in school and money was soooo tight. Here's what I would/did do in that situation:

    1. take stock of what you have in the cupboard-- canned fruits and veggies? any tuna or peanut butter? crackers? rice? pasta? Try to make a meal plan from what you have. It won't be as yummy as the fish and chicken. Figure out what you *really* need to make it through to Friday.

    2. go change diving in the couch, pockets... any returnable bottles? anyone you can borrow $5-10 from? Make a list of the few things you do really need to balance out what's in the cupboard and give yourself protein/whole grains/fruits and veggies for the week.

Finally, keep breathing and taking care of yourself. You are doing GREAT!

So sorry to hear about all the junk that's fallen upon you. No Good. No Darn Good, Whatsoever. Plainly: it SUCKS.

    Now, what?

Now, you've got to do as some of the Sparkers above suggested: go sofa diving for change (been there, done that), raid the pantry and incorporate a whole lotta Same Old Same Old into the routine (until Friday). Peanut butter is healthy. That canned soup that you've not touched? Now's the time to Go For It! That bag of brown rice you really didn't like the first time around? You'll develop a new appreciation for it.

Just remember: It's only until Friday.

    You can do this.

    You CAN do this. emoticon

That is such a pain! I'm sorry that happened to you. Friday will be here soon. I like Moonshadow's ideas in the meantime.

I'll also add that this sounds like a "Beck" moment. It would be really tempting to go into a mode of feeling sorry for yourself. (Who wouldn't?) But it won't help you change the situation. I have had things happen, different kinds of things than your case, but still, leading me to feel like "the world is against me" and "what is the point of even trying" but if you wait it out, you will feel better again. Don't let this mess with you too much!

    Good luck!
