My word for 2011

I was inspired by 4EVERADONEGIRL who blogged about how she and a friend selected a word last year to symbolize what they wanted for the year. She explains how it actually helped her throughout the year so she’s doing it again this year. Check out her blog to find out her new word and why she chose it. She also selected a theme.

Well it got me thinking. I want a word. I need a word. I have many goals for this year, not just fitness-related but also on a personal/spiritual level. I’ve had my word in mind since Saturday, and since then, it has already helped me. My word is LOVE. That’s it. So simple. LOVE. To love me, accept me, flaws and all. Love and accept others, even if I don’t like someone, or what they do. Very hard. Love so I may tolerate differences and overcome obstacles. Love what I do, whether it’s work, house chores, working out. Then I will do it better, and find the joy in it! To love also means to forgive. Forgive me, forgive others, to let go. Love and show love to those I care about. Isn’t that why we call them our loved ones? I think we take that for granted way too often. Love means giving without expecting in return (so hard to do). Love is kindness. Love is sharing, selflessness. Love is patient. Love is honest. I want to have and be all these things. So I need lots of Love. As such I must give lots of Love. Most importantly, Love God above all else. God is love. Reflect on His love.

To keep my word ‘alive’ throughout the year, and to spread the LOVE, I will blog about it once a week.

Live, Laugh and Love sparkies!!!

I like the idea. Right off the top of my head, FITNESS comes to mind. I'm going to sit on it a few days and reevaluate.

Are you going to do the "mujer" 1/2 marathon run in November? It's in Puerto Rico. My husband and I are thinking about going down then. emoticon

So true! If we see love in everything we do we would actually exceed or become better at it!
