Still around! :)

It's been quite a while since I've blogged. Just wanted to update all my spark friends on the goings on.

It's been pretty exciting around here with the holidays and gearing up for our new baby. I'm now 20 weeks and will have my ultrasound on the 26th. My due date is May 25th, but I still have doubts on it, since it has yet to be truly confirmed. I would be shocked to find out that I am on target. I still think it will be changed to June.

I'm finally starting to come out of the morning sickness. Hallelujah! I've had a few really ugly days where I was sick morning, noon and night. Ugh! Now I have the heartburn and acid reflux to contend with. It's always something! Ha!

With my last pregnancy, I was borderline for gestational diabetes. It pretty much makes it a foregone conclusion that I will wind up with it this go round, and it usually shows up pretty early, but so far so good. I've made it this far, and have had no sugar spikes whatsoever. Very happy about that. I have a very nice doctor and she is really making it easy to not worry about things. All my blood work has been awesome as well. I'll have the normal testing glucose screening next month. Fingers crossed. :)

My blood pressure does spike when I walk in the dr. office, but we always check it again when I leave, and it's normal. As always, I have the white coat syndrome, and my dr. even teases me and says that they don't even wear them in there.

Oh, and the best part so far, I have not gained a single pound. In fact, I lost 2. After talking to my dr., she said she was perfectly comfortable with me gaining the typical 20-30 pounds while pregnant, but that she has no problem with my gaining little to no weight. If I can lose weight, even better.

So, we don't know what we are having yet. I'm dying to know. The only downside is that this dr. does not do any ultrasounds until at least week 20, and you go immediately from your u/s to your regular check up. So, for me, it works out that I'll be 23 weeks. The upside to it is that they should really be able to tell for sure, should this munchkin cooperate. I'm dying to go shopping. :)

emoticon I am pleased that you are happy with your Dr. that makes all the difference especially, that you could be borderline for gestational diabetes. I am happy for you that you are over morning sickness and everything is going well.
