My reminder, this months goal, and a new recipe to try.
Saturday, January 08, 2011
My doctor reminded me to eat my protein because Insufficient protein in your diet will cause a decrease in lean body mass and muscle tissue. As you lose weight, you do not want to lose the part that helps you burn energy.
He also reminded me that Exercise that helps build muscle will increase your lean body mass. Any activity helps - walking is a good start. Eventually I will add exercises that build muscle strength.
My Goal of the month:
I made a goal to increase my exercise (by time or intensity)
Some extra calories may be unavoidable winter foods are heavier, pot lucks and parties are more frequent, and the early nightfall and cold weather tends to makes me want to stay in and eat as opposed to getting out and walking. This time of year is also a busy time, but my goal this month is to exercise more, not less. If I can't find more time for exercise, then I will increase my intensity- get that heart beating faster- for a similar calorie burning effect. I will also start trying new low cal recipes.
