2011 Word & Goals

Here I am six years into the new year and I am finally formalizing my word for the year and my goals.

My 2011 word shall be Consistency. If i can stay consistent, I can achieve my other goals. I'm sure it would also help my children a bit. Despite having consistency trophies from Sparkpeople, I know that I am not that consistent. I am going to print that word out and try to keep it in mind.

Goals for 2011

1. WEIGHT LOSS. I will weigh less at the end of 2011 than at the beginning. While I would like to lose at least as many pounds as I did in 2010, I am not going to stress about it. If I stay consistent with food choices, exercises, and even interacting with my children, it will come.


a. Running. I will be able to run 3 miles at the end of the year (and before then too). I restarted C25k a few days ago and am going to stay consistent with it. To help me with this goal, even if I can't afford to race in 5ks, I will volunteer at several races to keep running in the forefront of my mind. I will also keep track of my miles.

b. Biking. I will bike at least one event this year. I will also use my Mother's Day coupon to take my planned (but neglected) 46 mile bike ride. Time & weather have still not connected properly. I will also keep track of my miles.

c. Strength Training. Well, I need a good goal for this one. Everything I think about seems like more of a resolution. I want a goal.

I will do my best to stay consistent with all of these things. Speaking of consistency, I need to go do Day 4 bootcamp video, and figure out what my cardio for today will be.

    I too struggle with strength training. I work out at home w/no equipment, so looking forward to see what suggestions come your way!!

    Great word choice! YOU CAN DO IT! We're both going to feel much better about ourselves as this year draws to a close because of the CONSISTENCY and DECISIONS we'll accomplish!

    Consistency is a GREAT word!

    I think you are inspiring me to get back to training for the next 5K. I will be back in FL in April it qould be fun to do one together!
