First Blog

Thursday, January 06, 2011

This is my first blog and it has to be a negative one, what a shame. Have been on a shelf for a month because of a shoulder injury (lifting weights). I started back exercising doing a bunch of cardio, but now following surgery on my foot (arthritis) I can hardly walk. Now I don't know what kind of exercise, I mean meaningful exercise I can do. Soon, I will have to have surgery on my shoulder, cause the condition it is in now I can barely lift 5 pounds without straining. But, you can't keep a good man down for long I'll find something I can do until I get 100 percent.

I'm with several responders. Check with your Dr, have a lil patience, and insure you are doing your exercises right. I'm 60 and used to play football in college. (Go Pack) No way I ca do what used to do. Remember less can be more. Be safe and take your time. Thanks for sharing.

Any exercise is meaningful. Do some research and see if there is something you can do.
Maybe some leg lifts in a reclined position... maybe that old school bicycle thingy where you lay on your back and peddle your feet??
You will find something!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Follow your doctor's orders and in time and with patience you will be back to your program. In the meantime, try to not let these setbacks interfere your healthy nutritional choices, your rest and your water. While it is certainly difficult, it is not impossible. I am living proof of that. I have been sidelined almost completely with a back injury since last May despite several procedures and ongoing doctor's care. Hang in there and keep sparking for support!
