What is in store for 2011?1

I am interested in hearing from others what is in store for them in the New Year. It can be fitness related or not.

I'm having a hard time coming up with some goals for 2011 - besides wanting to lose 25 more pounds.

I've had a discouraging first few days of the new year between traveling, not eating the best and not being able to exercise as much as I wanted to while we were away.

I do know that diminishing our debt & boosting our finances needs to be a priority this year. So, now I am faced with how to fit in fitness (that I enjoy) and still focus on using our extra money to pay down some bills.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated!

    What is most interesting to you when it comes to your fitness? Arm strength? The 100 pushup challenge! Flexibility? Try yoga! (check out free podcast yogadownload at itunes there are a ton of their 20 min classes!) Cardio-A running goal!! A race? Have you done Jillian Michaels Burn Fat Boost Metabolism and No More Trouble Zones? They are SO AWESOME that they are worth every penny (and more!) Maybe you could try em from the library first?

    I am including yoga as a daily ritual which is part of the big picture of living simplistically with harmony and balance. I want to know and relish the joy of everyday.

    Rather than dwelling on weight loss, I am focusing on superior health, enjoying physical activity and making mindful decisions.

    My Sparks goals are to decrease my meat intake, replacing the usual beef with more beans, egg whites, etc., I plan to weigh in on a regular schedule ( I usually bi-pass it all together), and I plan to be a better food tracker than I have been.

    Personal non-Sparks goals, (1) to end daily (50 hrs/week) babysitting of my grandkids at the end of the school year, so that I can spend more time with husband. (2) continue putting extra money in the "build our new house fund", we hope to start construction next Fall. (3) Keep an open mind and think outside the box when ever possible.

    I look for you to make huge strides with your debt this year since you photography business is taking off!! I would like to run 2 half marathons this year one in the spring and one in the fall. I would also like to lose 10 lbs and keep it off. I have a busy late winter with traveling so it will be a challenge!

    I posted my goals a couple blogs back, if you want to check them out. I totally know how you feel in regards to 2011 not starting off quite as healthy as I would have liked (ok, it tanked. LOL)-but, it gives me that much more motivation to get back on track.

    Why does fitness have to be in your budget? (Unless I misunderstood your comment) I know you love to run (free, if you have the kicks) and there is a lot you can do at home that is free or fairly inexpensive.

    Ahh....debt...sucky word!!! But I am like you with the "it is time to get out of it!!" After many splurges the last few weeks, it is time to buckle down. I have been only spending cash and while it is hard to not resort to "credit"..it is also a fun challenge!

    Kelly, your goals are a lot like mine with the debt and fitting the fitness in. There has to be a way to do it... I know at work, I bring my lunch and (when the dr. releases me), I walk during my lunch. If it's bad weather, I go walk in the university gym. I hope you have a wonderful year! You are such an inspiration! emoticon

    My goals this year is to keep focusing on making fitness a regular part of my life. While it pretty much is, I have periods of a week or two here and there where I slack a bit more than I want. So I want to make it even more consistent than I have before. While I personally am not working towards pounds lost, but more at toning, toning, toning....I also want to work on paying down our debt and continue to grow our savings. I want to get back into my reading as well.... emoticon
