New Year New Me

I've made my plans and am ready to start the New year right! I weighed in at 183.4 this morning, not bad, only gained 1 pound over the holidays and didn't track and haven't exercised, either! (Plus Aunt Flo will be here any time now.)I'm still much too heavy though! I looked at last year's goals and I weighed in at 167 at the beginning of 2010.
My plans, for now, while I'm still in this walking cast:
- Average 1200 calories per week
- Do 5 hours per week of fitness minutes (this may be overly ambitious)
- Do at least 5 days of strength
I have set up a reward system to track how I am doing and then reward myself with treats for successful weeks or months of sticking to my goals. I haven't tried this method before but we'll see how it goes. For January I am tracking 8 things weekly (the three listed above plus others - writing, meditation, flylady, etc.) Each week where I meet a goal I am going to reward myself with $5 of spending money to buy something fun: clothes, kitchen gadgets, whatever. So if I meet all of my goals for a week I will be rewarded with $40 in spending money. If I meet my goals for all the weeks of the month I will get another reward.
I am sticking with my calorie spreadsheet, tracking my caloric intake less my calories burned and seeing if I lose weight at the 3500# deficit. It was working pretty well for the last couple of months and this way I can see if continuing with acupuncture will really help to raise my BMR.
I haven't been doing any personal computing at my new job until now but I think I can check Spark on my lunch hour and that will help to keep me more connected, especially as long as I can't take my normal walks on my lunch hour.
