December 31, 2010

It’s that time of year again, time to write down our resolutions, goals and wishes and tuck them away in a drawer or the back of our minds. For my family we have a tradition 6 years strong this New Years. We pull out that list from last year and we talk about it. It is amazing to see how you really did accomplish things that you truly thought were a complete loss.
While I’m sitting here writing my list of the year to come, at the last minute which is pretty much how I roll. I’m thinking about the year that has passed and I am astonished at how it has transpired. My year started out just short of hideous, literally on New Year’s Eve. What is that old saying the farmers use? In like a lion out like a lamb? That was my year. Meaning that it may have started out just short of ridiculously horrid, this year is ending amazingly wonderful. I am of course holding my breath that the same farmer’s superstition for the weather doesn’t hold true when I sit to write this paper next New Years Eve. In like a lamb and out like a lion  but I digress.
As a general rule I like to focus on the positive so I typically try to see the silver lining, always. This year is an easy year to do that. My daughter, despite obstacles and hardships has made it through High School and I am very proud of her for that. It is easier to quit then it is to fight and press on, but she did. My other daughter, even though she is now a teenager is still becoming a beautiful young woman inside and out and even with the title of teenager she still has the sweetest heart of anyone I know. (For any of you with teenagers you understand this well) My son, although far away from me is growing into a remarkable young man who I have no doubt will achieve anything he sets his mind to. My grandson, well… you have all seen him. Saying more is not really necessary, but I will add that he is the greatest baby ever. Last but certainly not least, my husband. The one person that can make me smile even when I don’t want to. The love of my life. I finally got it right 
This year has also brought with it a plethora of new friends, connecting with old friends, friends that have become clients and clients that have become friends. Best friends, old friends, every day friends, his friends that have become my friends and my friends that have become his friends. It has been a very good year for connecting with people and bonding. I have some very dear friends out there that I would just be lost without. I love you guys and you know who you are! Starr I’ll call you in the morning….er or afternoon, Tom I’ll see you Monday, Wanda hurry up and get your ass back from Toronto! Ian get together next week? Em…I’ll see you around Feb? :0
On a family level I have been able to keep up with what is going on in my family’s lives, although I may not participate too much, I do read.  I have also been adopted into Jeremy’s family. They have taken me in as if I have always been there and I am sincerely grateful and blessed.
This year I have gone from Realtor to Broker and plans have been outlined and objectives set. Life is great and I can only see it getting better.
In closing, looking back at my year that has come in like a lion and out like a lamb…..I am blessed with prosperity, knowledge, love, communication, family, friends and strength.
Here is to a year of wondrous beauty, Love, Success, Happiness and Peace to all of my family and friends.
Happy New Year
