Happy New Year to my SparkPeople friends. I have not blogged in over six months, and although I never left, I was not fully here. A lot has happened during those six months, but I have decided to leave them in the past. This blog is about seeing the light, finding joy, moving forward, doing what is good, and achieving goals. In fact this is what this year is about. It is the year I designated as the one when I will reach my goal weight, and although I've moved further away from my goal, I still believe it is reachable.
Last night I visited a church that is very different from my conservative Catholic church. It was spontaneous and joyful and although I do not plan to secede from the Catholic Church, I did enjoy and appreciate the message that was delivered. I'll share that message with in you in six words "DON'T GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAM."
SparkPeople provides us with an opportunity to be comfortable enough to share our feelings regardless of how positive or negative they may be. However I believe that this website is also about helping us to get to the next level, not to stay where we are, or to regress, as I did. This is about having a dream and taking the necessary steps to achieve it.
As I considered how difficult it might be to fulfill my goals this year given the situations that I have encountered in the past year, I realized that I could not afford to let my life be dictated by occurrences. There is a power within me that is strong and if I'm willing to tap into that power and if I'm determined to win, then I have no option but to succeed.
And so as we begin 2011 which I claim as my special year since my birthday will be on 11-11-11, I encourage anyone who reads this blog to stretch as far as you can to reach the goals that you have set for yourself. You subscribed to this site because of a dream, a goal or a need. Have you accomplished what you set out to accomplish? If not then you have work to do and no one else can do it for you. We rely on each other for motivation and inspiration, but the work lies at our own feet. For those of you like me who put your goal in the background, let's get back in touch with it and make the determination to move forward. For those already on the path, keep on going strong. Your reward awaits you.
Happy New Year to all my SparkPeople friends. May this be the year that you find success.
