Trying to get back to the Basics Again

Monday, December 27, 2010

I had decided to relax and enjoy the Christmas holidays with my family. That meant that I planned to eat some of my favorite foods which I only make once a year and take a break from exercising every day. I don't have a big family, but I'm happy we can be together this Christmas. My son really enjoyed his gifts and that made me very happy.

Well, Christmas is gone now and I thoroughly enjoyed it. So time to get back to the SparkPeople program to continue my journey to a healthier lifestyle. Today is the 2nd day in a row now that I have exercised and I'm beginning to track my food more accurately. So while I'm not exactly charging up the hill again, I am easing myself back into the lifestyle that made me feel so much better. I have to do this if I want to enjoy my life. It is just never easy.

I'm very thankful for the family that I have even though they are not perfect (guess that is why I fit in so well!). Now I have to plan for my husband's birthday in January. Funds are low as usual for the New Year, so I'll have to plan this one carefully. But I'm sure we'll have a nice small celebration at least.

Sorry for the rambling blog. I just have to get back in the groove again. But I have a lot of reasons to keep trying.

Thats one thing we have is a new day , a new start.
Glad you had family for the Holidays.
I am on vacation this week, so I know how hard it is to stay on track.
Take care, stay strong, Spark on.

You CAN do it. Doing everything slow and steady is the best approach.
Keep at it. Any movement is a forward step.
