Christmas and all the goodies that go along with it...

Tuesday, December 21, 2010

I am now down 20 pounds since I started this weight loss thing in earnest in June, 2010, and I am feeling so much better. My knee still hurts, and now the weather has turned cold my right foot and ankle are acting up too, but I won't bore you with those details. I have been trying to lose as much as I can over December so I can partake of the goodies over Christmas. I made my usual shortbread cookies and butterscotch confetti (my ultimate favourite!!), then made chocolate truffles as well just to add to the temptation! And they are SOOOOO good!!

Now I think about it, losing a ton so I can pig out is really dumb! As long as I can MAINTAIN my weight over Christmas I will be doing very well! I will still be going to the gym every day and I will watch what I eat, but I will also enjoy! A truffle and a cookie won't hurt and they will settle my craving for sweets. Also, I will be shovelling snow, walking the dogs, cleaning out my basement, helping my husband put up cupboards in the laundry room, and setting up my new craft room! So lots of opportunity to keep active and keep the weight down!

So to everyone, have a very safe and merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year. May 2011 be everything you hoped!

The holidays are hard esp. when your not home & visiting with all your family, which love to eat. They expect you to continue to cook all the same fattening food, yet none of them are fat. I'm just praying I can keep the 15 lbs off that I have lost. I will do the exercise everyday plus add more to it.

Wow! You are so right! Why go through all that hard work to just blow it over the holidays. You have done wonderfully on your weight loss. But with all that extra calorie burning your doing, maybe a couple of sweets during the holidays won't even matter.
