The Florence Shuffle

Just a quickie 'cos I'm at an internet cafe' where the keyboards don't seem to have a working space bar between them (it takes all my concetration nottowrite likethisifyouknowwhatImean).
Anyway, it seems I flew out just in time - Mr Gent informs me there's snow over there and London grinds to a halt. I would be so very envious if it wasn't that yesterday morning I awoke after a 13 hours' sleep (I had to catch up!) to a slight sleet. Last night there were 40 cm of the white stuff in my mother's balcony :)))
Yesterday afternoon I traipsed around Florence taking pictures of the Duomo, Giotto's Belltower, Ponte Vecchio and so on, all covered in snow. As soon as I find a way to download them I'll post them (also 'cos I've used up the phone memory!)
I went nuts with pictures, I had never seen Florence ike this and it's unlikely that I'll ever get the chance again.
I love it! Last night I fell asleep way past midnight to the shouts of "gotcha" by the people playing snowfights in the street below. As I was walking around town yesterday I had to laugh at the sight of Florentine dogs, who have never seen snow in their lives, going totally insane and rolling in it. Adults with children were using their offsprings as an excuse to have snowfights, and those without children were sneaking into groups who had little people just so they could join in the fun too! Anyone under 20 didn't even try to pretend they had children with them, but were just throwing snowballs randomly. I ducked a few :)))
For some reason, everybody seems to walk like an extra from Michael Jackson's Thriller. Maybe the soles of their shoes have some snow magnet and they can't lift their legs!
Love it, love it, love it!
Hope everybody's having a great time too :))))
