Friday 10th December: Live each day to the fullest as you never know what tomorrow will bring
Friday, December 10, 2010
Well last night I received some devastating news. My 'second' mother lost her battle with cancer and passed away yesterday afternoon. She left 2 wonderful daughters behind, one of which was my best friend while growing up. Sharon was like a mother to me in those turbulent times called teenage hood. I always knew that I could talk to her when I couldn't talk to my own mother, I always knew I could take refuge at her house when things at my house got too hectic.
It saddens me as I am here in Ireland and I wasn't able to see her through her last days here on this earth. It saddens me even more that I can't say a proper goodbye to her as her funeral will be taking place in the next few days and I can't make it back to South Africa in time.
Sharon: you will never truly know how many lives you touched, how many lost souls you saved! You were an amazing woman and will be truly missed by more than you will ever know. Please know that I never forgot you and never will. I will carry a piece of you in my heart always...
So my lesson for today is to live each day to the fullest, forget about the past as it cannot be changed, don't worry about the future as you don't know what is in store, just enjoy the present as it will make all the difference.
RIP Sharon Clifton
