Day 9 Blog - I am proud of......

Thursday, December 09, 2010

Something I am proud of the past few days:

I am very proud of our Christmas tree. Sounds silly I know, but the ornaments are all from places we have been together. We have special hand painted ones from the year we got married and the year we bought our house.

Jus this morning I sat in the living room with my morning coffee admiring the tree and all the memories each of those ornaments represents.

I am proud of the way we create traditions for ourselves in an otherwise face-paced over-commercialized world.

Martha Stewart would hate my tree I am sure, but Carolyn and Jim Younce LOVE it.

Have a GREAT day!

Who cares about Martha Stewart...It's what you and Jim care about, it's your life reflected on one loving tree! Here's wishing you two, many more years of memories hung on that tree! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I love your tree! What a great idea to buy ornaments from the places you've been together. And also have the hand-painted ones. It means so much more!!!
Your Christmas tree will be growing with memories a year after year! I love when holidays are so meaningful!

I love it! We just bought our first fake tree this year- so it will be the first year my husband and I decorate a tree together. We have a few ornaments that people have given us last year and before, but the tree is sparsely decorated to say th least, hehe. I totally want the ornaments we have to carry meaning/memories and be more special than just going out and buying a tub of color coordintated ornaments. So, I'm on my way to having a mismatched yet memory-filled tree too!
