Quick Update

Monday, December 06, 2010

This is my last week at my job. It's been SUPER busy trying to document all the stuff I do so someone can take it over, but it's been good.

If you read my last blog, you'll see all sorts of things in there about my hopes for the future and developing a life.

I'm happy to say both are underway.

Last week I was out several nights at concerts and dinners and so forth, but I also managed to behave myself on the food side. Went to boot camp twice, as scheduled, and hit the gym over the weekend too.

This morning I had my first session with a personal trainer. His name is Paul and I think he may be Satan, but I think I need him in my life. Initially I was going to have one session with him and one with another trainer named Brittany, but after my session this morning I'm going with Paul.

I was hesitant to even try a female personal trainer, because having some skinny little b@#$% would probably just make me want to punch her in the face. But they set me up with Paul first, and I think I'll do better with a boy. Paul is a former military tattooed badass, and I think that's what I want.

He asked about what we do at boot camp and then looked for things that are different. That's exactly what I want and he seems to listen to me. He's tough but also seems to know when to back off. I'm super excited about this!! I've never had a trainer before so this is new for me.

I will now have Paul on Mondays and boot camp on Wednesdays and Fridays, and Paul wants me walking or elliptical-ing at least two more days a week. This is very doable.

I need results!

I'm also working on the food side of things. I've not been super well behaved, but I'm here, I'm staying put (no travel with new job!), and I'm dedicated to taking off some of the weight I've put on over the past few years.

    Good luck with Paul!

My personal trainer has totally pushed my limits and I love it. I think it's totally worth it to have one.
