I'm back!

Saturday, December 04, 2010

Well, I have been gone for almost a year...kept up with my exercising for about a month and then went back to my old ways as soon as the semester got hectic. So there's good and bad things that happened over the last year:

Good:
-Got help for my depression and am on meds/DBT therapy
-Switched to a vegetarian diet
-Am getting almost all of my food groups in every day
-Really enjoy eating fruits, veggies, and grains

Bad:
-Still can't kick sugar cravings
-Still compulsively eating when feeling anxious or sad
-Haven't been exercising at all
-15 lbs heavier than last year. :(

I'm not sure where I stand on giving up sugar yet...perhaps cutting back would be good, but I just made a batch of cookies last night and arghhh! Winter is always the time that I like to bake and fill my stomach with delicious sweets. I have been eating healthfully other than sugar, that's always been my achilles heel. So maybe being more aware of why I am craving it and paying attention to what my body is saying to me.

I AM committed to upping my water intake, taking vitamins everyday and working out every other day. I hope this time around my healthy habits stick.

good luck - I'm a vegetarian with picky eating habits and a sugar addiction but nuts have really helped me curb my appetite and get proteins/less carbs. Always looking for buddies and I share my food tracker if you need ideas! Not perfect by any means but trying! Welcome back!
