Thursday 2nd December and the cold spell continues...

Well it has been a week of snow now, the Irish are telling me this is the most snow that Ireland has had for many many years. Trust it to happen on the first winter of me being a single mother. Well I now have experience in making sure the drive way isn't too slippy, I am able to make sure the water in my car's radiator doesn't freeze and what to do if it does happen to freeze!
It is certainly a learning curve but I am overcoming the obstacles one by one, some by choice, others by necessity!
Temperatures are set to go to -15 celcius tonight - snow with a wind blowing which is not going to be great as I am not home to make a fire. Have the central heating set to come on before me and the kiddies get home, just hope the heating will be fixed today so the house will be warm (one thing I haven't learnt to fix yet! lol)
I feel bad as I didn't get up this morning to do my cardio. It was SO cold and with Ross waking up in the middle of the night with growing pains I stayed in bed with him. I intend to make up for it on Sunday when it is supposed to be my off day...

After putting a poll on my FB as to when to put up the Xmas tree I have decided to do it on the weekend when the kids are with their father. I would love to do it when they are there but they are both too young to understand what is involved and I don't want them to get hurt, besides it will be a nice surprise when they get home...

Well that is all for now. Looking forward to this eve when I get to go home and chill, only back at work on Monday!

Well done for coping with all of this
Why do you think I left the UK and came to Cape Town :))

I am sure you will catch up on exercise and everything else over the weekend w/out the kids around.

    Keep warm

It is times like this when I miss my home of Cape Town, South Africa where if you hear of snow it will be in Ceres mountains and everybody flocks to have a look! By rights I shouldn't have come to work today as the roads are so bad but I guess I am a sucker for punishment and came anyway!
Just hoping this extreme weather will end soon although they are saying on the radio it will be here next week too...
Oh well, just have to make the best of a bad situation!!!!

I get this message. My hubby spent his time working in Dubai and I was at home dealing with everything from cars to kids....luckily not little children but then some teens are more work than little ones. Little kids little problems...bigger kids bigger problems and whats more I had no snow issues to deal with.
My sister has moved to the UK a year ago and still battles with the extreme cold, coming from South Africa where it never gets snow or that cold, the parts we live in anyway.
