Hard Times

My weight loss journey has taken a back seat to life....once again. Somehow I need to figure out how to stay focused when life's little crisis' crop up. Two weekends ago my nieces, who live with their dad in a basement apt in the house I rent, came upstairs to say the basement had a leak. Long story short...that "leak" was the main pipe collapsing in on itself. We had over a foot of water to clean out! Then came the professional "Disaster clean up" team. All the carpets, tiles....everything....ripped out and gone. The walls need to be cut out on the bottom portion...new drywall put up...to prevent mold growth. What a lengthy process! In the meantime, my brother and my nieces moved upstairs while their area is being rennovated. Then the blizzard hit...we were all safe in the house...and then I woke up freezing cold!! The furnace decided to go out on us. UGH! Everyone moved over to my parents' house while the issue is being resolved....needless to say I kind of stepped off the path of exercising and eating the way I need to. Getting into a habit is so much harder than breaking one I have decided...I will get there. Eventually.

Thank you for the kind words and prayers! My parent's actually own the home that we rent...and the pipe was fixed quickly, its the furnace that is causing some delay, and then of course the remodeling. We will get through it, it just feels a lot better to vent about it, get it out, and then try to move on! I appreciate the support!

Wow, that is crazy. You know that old saying, when it rains, it pours. This definitely applies. I am sorry you are going through this, since you are renting though shouldn't your landlord be taking care of this? And hopefully in a timely fashion as well.

    I wish you luck!!
