Normally I would think that december is a rather hard month to stay on track – and it might be.

..the traditional food in advent (which we celebrate by lighting one candle the first sunday, two the second etc) is everywhere and easy to access – I do have two jars of gingerbread's in my cupboard and some french cheese in the fridge that goes perfectly with it...

But I suddenly realized that november has been very hard for me. I have moved and all free time has been spent driving back and forth with boxes and unpacking and fixing stuff. I am not finished but the remaining things can wait, at least until this very cold weather lifts...

And I feel rather peaceful about december and looking forward to try to find routines and happiness in my "new" life. I still have some hard hurdles with my economy but will try not to get to much anxiety over it.

Right now I am making a paper – the last one for this year and the next will not be until february.

I have been taking care of a dog for friends who went to Svalbard for ten days, it has been stressing because it has been hard to combine with full time work. It has convinced me that I can not have a dog for the moment, I will have to wait until things changes.

Another picture from the typical swedish advent – these electrical candles are not in my window but mine are almost identical. These you see everywhere during december..

It was wonderful to hear you say you are feeling peaceful...I'm so glad. You deserve a lot of peace in your life and it has begun.

I really like those candles, and imagine I'd really like Advent food, too!

Stressful enough moving. And a little at a time drags it out so you feel you will never be settled. Good for you for putting the rest off until the weather is more agreeable. I love the electric Advent candles and I imagine yours look as nice. Remember Nov is past and peaceful, sweet December is ahead with calm, joy and new habits in your new place. (and thank heavens the dog is only temporary & now you know, no dog for you at this time!!) Brenda

Moving can definitely be stressful! Now that you are settled in, the routine of eating well will return. Love your pics!

Happy to hear you're installed in the new house - it must have been very hard work but now you can look forward to some peace and happiness. You are moving forward and whilst that always takes a certain amount of courage - which you plainly have - the rewards are great.

Sad that you can't have a dog at the moment but as CHRISTURTLE says - through your kindness you have found that out in time and saved yourself - and a dog - unhappiness.

The Advent candles look great and the cheese and ginger biscuits sound delicious.
    Happy December to you emoticon

The candles look absolutely beautiful, and from the photo no one would even guess they are electrical. Much safer than the traditional candles, I must say.
I think its a good thing to find out by caring for a friend's dog that your life at present doesn't suit having a full time dog. Disappointing I know, but at least you found this out before bringing one of your own into the house, falling in love with it and then having to say goodbye again. Maybe a cat? Or do you already have a cat? I seem to remember you mentioning a cat some time back, but maybe it was a friend's cat.

I think you have done an incredibly good job of moving house, coping with all the problems winter brings and working. You may not have noticed, but you seem to be gaining more and more strength as the months pass, and using that strength to say no to the things you know you are going to regret eating later. Moving house is on a par with the death of a loved one, and yet you coped with all those stressful situations and stayed strong!

You are such an inspiration to me, and a constant reminder that by standing strong and not giving in when things get hard, we can achieve almost anything we wish to. Thank you for providing such a great example. i emoticon emoticon emoticon
