I came prepared to get back on the wagon
Monday, November 29, 2010
As it turns out, I was on it all along. I guess perhaps the journey isn't as obviously bumpy as it used to be!
I thought my tumble off of the wagon would happen when I went on vacation but I managed to keep focused. I exercised plenty and didn't feel too guilty about anything I had eaten. I came back from vacation but had a hard time getting back into my gym routine. My husbands shift has changed, my daycare person closed her daycare---this adding much stress and some adjustment to the new routine was needed by all parties involved.
Just when I thought it was settling down it got a bit worse. My best walking companion, our pooch Friend, got hit by a car. There has been some pretty extreme grief around this house but I think we are coming out from under the cloud. Our hearts are still broken but we are all starting to function with slightly fewer tears.
So, today, I decided it was time to catch the wagon. I called my trainer and booked an appointment. I feel great after an intense work out! And, here is the kicker, I've lost 5lbs this month! That was after a huge bottle of water and a hearty breakfast too!
I think I have actually learned, my body and my mind are working together!
