Now on to Christmas!!!

This is my favorite time of year! Except everything you do revolves around eating! I'm glad I'm retired, because at work almost daily someone brought in cookies or some treat. Patients brought in treats, you can't get away from it. But at least at home I can control it. Monday we start a new eating plan. I promised Otis I would let him eat whatever he wants until Monday. Then we get serious. He said but then it's Christmas...I said Not for a month it isn't. So wish me luck in getting him to comply. It's not a big change, he just has to give up potatoes, bread, sugar. I snuck in sugar free pies for Thanksgiving and he didn't even know.

Thanks for the encouragement. He did good today, but it's only day one. I walked my legs off Christmas shopping! Left him home alone but he said he didn't eat anything he wasn't supposed to. And I didn't either, I stopped for an iced tea and forgot and ordered sweet tea, as I drove off I remembered NO SUGAR, so I didn't drink it.

This is my favorite time of the year also. So joyful, so cheerful, so thankful and so inspiring! I do have a bit of stress due to my finals (i'm a college student) but I know we can pull through this holiday season. Hold firm to your beliefs and what you want to do .. don't give in! You can do it =)
