This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.
This is what popped into my head first thing when I started to write, so I decided I better get the verse and reference and put it first.
My heart is full.
It is Thanksgiving Eve.
Yes, I went into a grocery store to buy "just a few more things". Being able to go to the grocery store and buy something is a blessing.
Our friend the mechanic is back changing the brakes on hubby/son's car. It depends on who is driving it at the moment. Having a friend that is a mechanic is a blessing.
I sigh. It is warm and cozy since our neighbor down the street saved us a bundle by telling my husband what part to get to replace in our gas stove, then the neighbor replaced it and I have the oven cooking for the first time in months! That is a blessing. I am baking the pumpkin, to scrape out of it's shell, to make some one of the lighter pumpkin pie recipes I found on here that sounded good to my husband. He normally bakes the pumpkin pie with a full fledged pie crust. This calls for cream cheese, sugar free pudding mix, and is non-bake. I also made a variation on a homemade cranberry sauce adding zest of clementines, and chopped clementine. Instead of water, I used orange juice, and added the touch of almond extract like I saw in another recipe. It is a blessing to be able to do some cooking. I will mind myself, and not overdo. It is a blessing to stand, it is a blessing to be able to sit down, rest. and go back and try some more. I will do that after I finish blogging.
God, faith, church and all it entails. It keeps me going.
My loving family, they put up with me. They also keep me going, and I do likewise.
Spark people, like you. Thank you for your friendship, warmth, and encouragement. It keeps me going.
Our warm home, polar fleece and warm lap cats. They keep me warm, and help alleviate my pain.
Music and all things creative. and the internet. and photography.
Bounty from our tiny garden this summer - we will enjoy our winter squash in the next couple days.
Now don't overdo it tomorrow. or today for that matter. Mind your portions, there is always another meal. Enjoy those in your company. Go for a walk. Play a game - I want to play sequence and/or scrabble with my family. Enjoy your loved ones. Bask in their warmth, and share your own.
My hubby and I plan to watch "It's a wonderful Life." When I got hurt two years ago, that movie saved my spirit, because I felt so sorry for myself. We are each here for a reason, and the lives we touch are many. We don't always know whose life we touch. I touch yours. You touch mine, and I thank you.
Have a Happy and blessed Thanksgiving. And don't stop counting your blessings!
