It's another GREAT day. I finally got my paycheck from work yesterday. I was getting a little worried about it, but it finally came (almost a week late).

I am working from home today, which means that I spend a little more time in the pool in the morning and then go back late afternoon / early evening for a second workout. I love these days. I am fortunate to have the opportunity to work from home at least once per week, and more if needed. This has been a boost to my fitness program. Changing my membership to a closer gym has also helped with my fitness routine. I am finding that I can go much more often now, including weekends which I never did when I belonged to the gym near work.

I've started noticing changes in the way my clothes are fitting already. It will be a long time until I'm ready to move down a size, but before I started this back up I was at the verge of moving up a size (not good). After just two weeks though I'm no longer ready to bust out of my button down shirts. This is another great motivator for me.

The change in my attitude about fitness is wonderful too. I am REALLY bummed out that my gym is closed tomorrow for Thanksgiving. In the past, not only would I have been relieved, but I would have found a way to justify not going at all for the whole week.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving! I have so much more to be thankful for this year as I look forward to better health and better living.

    Don't you just love the "clothes fitting better" feeling? It's such a great gauge of progress (and yes, an awesome motivator!!) I'm loving the incredibly positive attitude in this blog. Congrats on your success. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

    Along with your regimen, you will need a great deal of patience, even when you don't notice changes (phyically or number wise) to continue the path you have made. I started my plan mid September 2007 and the first noticeable thing for me was that my swim trunks finally started fitting better the end of March 2008. After that there were explosive changes followed by a leveling off if you will. I continued until I injured my left hip. The changes everyone else told me that they noticed I hardly gave a second thought during most of 2009 up until my injury.

    The recipe for my success has been the combined nutrition and exercise regimen. There were times when it was physically difficult to get to the gym for me. I remember several heavy snow days in March of 2008 where I couldn't even get my car out of my driveway as there was higher snow in my dead end street than there was in my driveway. I called around and met a family member a few streets away and they took me to the gym (Bally Total Fitness in Broadview Heights) and I got my workout in for those couple days I waited for a plow to clear my street.

    Enjoy your holiday and truly be thankful for the things in your life, but remember not to deny yourself in the name of losing weight. Enjoy the things around you and the finer things in moderation. They will help lead you to that healthier, happier you that will remain thankful!
