Thanksgiving in Massachusetts

Wednesday, November 24, 2010

This year has been an especially difficult one for my family. My wife has been out of work for 2 years and during the summer took a very low paying in home job. We support a big family in a big home that costs a lot of money to run. As you can imagine it has been tough on our relationship. I can shamefully say I haven't been the most supportive. My mother-in-law and laid-off brother-in-law live with us. So I often feel this financial burden is unfair. However, I love my wife dearly and she is dedicated to taking care of all her family members.
However, this Thanksgiving I have much to be thankful for. My wife recently fell into her dream job in the wine industry. For the first time in 2 years she is excited beyond belief. While its not a whole lot of money it makes her happy. And that makes me happy.

How wonderful that your wife found a job that she loves - a rare thing in the current economy. I worked in a very stressful situation for a year and it affected my health and my attitude. It is SO important to like what you are doing!
I'm glad things are going better for you all. Living in an extended family situation can be difficult at times, but it has it's rewards also.
    Stay positive!

Definitely glad to hear things are looking up! I was laid off last November, so I know how hard it can be. I'm glad that your wife found something she loves! That's definitely hard to come by!

I hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful!

Glad to hear things are looking up. My hubby was laid off this year, thankfully only for 6 months so I feel part of your pain. It is hard on the relationship. I hope that things are turning around for you all. Have a great Turkey Day!!!
