Too much stress sent me back to some old habits.

Wednesday, November 24, 2010

At the end of October my Grandma died. She was a skinny health nut most of her life. She died from alzheimers. I personally think she gave up on life after losing her son (my Uncle) in January of 2010. He fell through the ice while ice fishing.

Anyway, how did I deal with the stress of losing a loved one? I ate a lot. It was right around Halloween too, so I dug into all sorts of candy. My kids brought home lots of chocolates. Way too many for any kid to eat. So I helped.

Ironically, the way I dealt with the loss of my health nut grandma was by over-eating junk food. (I call her a health nut in the most loving and respectful way. I'm just trying to show the irony.)

I'm trying hard to get back on track, but it has been very dificult. My classes are very demanding and so are my kids! Wish me luck as I try to get back on track during Thanksgiving and Christmas.
