Walking in Maryland

Monday, November 22, 2010

Greetings Everyone,

I'm in Maryland visiting family this week. I flew in on Saturday and even managed to get some light walking in during a 2 hour layover. On Sunday, no exercise except for light walking to and from Metro to have a Birthday lunch with my sister and neice. They both think I brought some of our California weather to Maryland since the days have been mild (light jackets and nice in the sun). Thank you Thank you.

Today, I went walking with my sister. I thought I was a fast walker but I have nothing on my sister. We did 6 miles and she actually had me huffing as I kept up with her speed. She even manages to keep up a steady conversation. I thought we did pretty good time wise (1 hr 39min) but she said she usually does this in 1 hr 15min. Okay, I think she has given me a challenge and told her next year we need to do a 1/2 marathon. She would be sensational!

I can't wait to walk tomorrow morning but hate that I may mess up my pedicure. Yep, we did a manicure/pedicure day, plus some shoe shopping. Which reminds me I have some shoes on hold at DSW to decide tomorrow.

This evening we did all the food shopping for Thanksgiving dinner.

Not a bad day and the best blessing is my ankles are not swollen from flying anymore. Woo Hoo!!!

BTW - I had a pint of Haagen Daas yesterday for my birthday. This was really bad but hey it was my birthday, right!

I'm glad you're having fun and what fun to have your sister walk with you. She would probably have us running... LOL!!! Enjoy your family time (food and all); you can get back on track when you return.

    Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I am totally jealous of you're being in MD. My bro and sil live there! It's a great state and has great bagels! Don't worry about the ice cream! Live it up a bit, it was your birthday,
