I need a chaise longue...

Monday, November 22, 2010

And possibly a hunk in a loincloth fanning me as another one feeds me grapes, while I recline elegantly and enjoy a rest. If someone could also send over some sunshine and warmth it would be appreciated.
While I wait for an orderly queue to form at my door I'll start on the grapes :D

The show last night was very enjoyable. For those in the UK (or who can listen to BBC Radio 4) it will be aired in February. It's called Rudy's Rare Records and stars Lenny Henry among others. The cast were enjoying themselves and if it had been a TV show instead of radio, the out takes would have been as funny as the show itself.

I had a little exchange of texts with Mr Gent during the evening, where he said he's looking forward to a break on Saturday. He suggested "maybe see an exhibition, some culture, cinema or do something else (trip to Brighton?), ice skating, nude wrestling, cheese rolling?"
I think I might skip the nude wrestling - unless it's in cheese, killing two birds with one stone!

The trip to Brighton (or anywhere) appeals, but it'd probably mean a very early rise and also it might be too late to get cheap tickets.
I'm very tempted by the ice skating. I've never done it in my life and I have the grace of an elephant in a china shop - if nothing else, it should be a laugh, and I've wanted to see the ice rink at Somerset House for years, so I think I might go for that.
There're also several Christmas markets around town, so we could do both.

Something to think about during the week :)

You should go ice skating...here's what you do...(or this is at least what my husband did)....first you brag about it for weeks...about how good you are, compare yourself to Sonya Henie, things like that. Then about a day out start talking about how you are worried that after all this time you might be a bit rusty. Right before you actually leave for the rink you should worry out loud that you have never used rental skates before and don't know what that will be like. When you are actually in the line to pay ...this is where you say that you may have exaggerated a little bit about how good you are. When you are trying to put you skates on you confess that you may have exaggerated a little bit about how often you had gone as a kid. Once your skates are on and you are waiting for the Zamboni to clear the ice you can now admit that you lied about the whole thing and have never gone skating in your life! True story...but still a great date!

Have fun at the skating rink with Mr. Gent, if that's what you end up doing. :-)

Gee, Screwie, I happen to have a spare white wicker chaise lounge. Kind of hard to get it to you from California, though! Your blogs always make me smile. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

LOL Yes, a chaise longue does sounds great for me too! But maybe my DH would object to the other "additions". :) Screwie, you should try the ice skating. You would love it! Myself, I have a hard time braking on the ice and end up plowing in the side boards...LOL But it's really good exercise as well as fun.
    Take care my friend emoticon
