Since yesterday was a busy day, and Spark People was going to be down for upgrades, I knew I wouldn't be able to get in a do my stuff after the concert, so I am combining my two days into one
Getting Healthy IS my job Day 9 Wednesday Nov. 17, 2010
Reward Day! (Sometimes the best rewards happen when you don't exactly plan them to coincide with results)
Wednesday I was excited! Sooo excited I was like a schoolgirl counting down the hours until the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert. My son's young friends were pretty excited, the girl (not a girlfriend, more of a music buddy - their voices are awesome together), had NEVER been to a concert before. She came over and had dinner beforehand, then we picked up my son's other friend and fellow guitarist for their musical trio.
When we arrived at the venue, I knew I wanted to buy the newest CD, I had listened to it online via their website, and I chose it almost immediately before we sat down. We bought our bottle of water, and found our seats.
Yes, the concert was awesome awesome. The music was unbelievable, the special effects were pretty amazing. Here are some quick shots. The lighting, the colors, the laser, the pyrotechnics, the technology of the presentation, the precision along with outstanding music was wonderful. And it was pretty cool to hear a teenage girl screaming at enjoying her first concert, and to hear my son loving it as well. It was a marvelous evening.
The guitarists and the electric violinist kept switching places on the cat walk. Outstanding performances!
Now it is pretty hard to top that. I mentioned to my husband that I hope my son doesn't want to grow his hair as long as these guitarists, I was waiting for them to get their hair caught in the strings! When the pyrotechnics occurred, we could feel the heat from our seats, I can only imagine how hot is gets on stage!
Day 10 Getting Healthy IS my job! Thursday 11-18-2010
Take time for friendship!
Today, I will be traveling with my son to RI to visit friends. They have been best friends since they were babies, and I am best friends with the mom. We will be going to the Harry Potter movie opening at midnight. At least, I am the designated adult chaperone and will be with 4 teenage boys! I will drive (it is only a few miles from their home, so I can do that). My son will drive us to RI, then back later tomorrow afternoon. We will spend the night at our friends after the movie.
Dan (my son) with Jon when they were younger
Dan and Jon this summer. They worked at Christian camp together.
Friendship is awesome. I love all my close friends, and my spark friends very much. I am thrilled to see my son develop his friendships as well, and keep treasured friendships. It is vital for our well being.
This evening before I take the young men to the movies, I will have the opportunity to visit and chat with my girlfriend and her husband. It will be good, and I am looking forward to it. I haven't seen them in a few months.
So I will leave off now, as I need to get ready for this next adventure.
