National Smoke Out Day

Thursday, November 18, 2010

Well today is a day that as a smoker I HATED!!! I hated feeling like a leper because I was smoking and thought people were looking down on me especially that day! I hated non smokers trying to tell me that smoking was bad for me!! Well Duh...but at the time I was NOT interested in hearing anything they had to say!

Your Quit Date is: Sunday, February 21, 2010 at 10:00:00 PM
Time Smoke-Free: 269 days, 7 hours, 18 minutes and 30 seconds
Cigarettes NOT smoked: 6733
Lifetime Saved: 1 month, 21 days, 10 hours
Money Saved: $1,687.50

Well today is different! Today I am smoke free! How awesome is that!! I wish I had listened to people when they tried to tell me. I wish I knew how good it feels to be smoke free. If you are a smoker, here are some resources that might help you, I know they really really helped me be successful! is a great website with lots of support. There are people on there willing to help and support you through your quit. The other resource is Allen Carr's "Easy Way to Quit Smoking." It's a book you can google the PDF version off the internet and download it. You might say how can a book help....well it really can! It puts things into perspective for your journey. It helps deal with the mental issues that come with quitting.

I just want to say that it has been so worth the effort it took to quit. I promise you will feel better!! Is it easy?? It wasn't so bad honestly. There are days I still think about smoking, but it goes really fast. I have never had this much energy as I do now. I know that most of that is the smoking. I decided to be healthy this year, and well I couldn't be healthy and still smoke! I hope you will think about this message!! If I can support anyone trying to quit, please message me!!

You all have a great losing day!!!

Way to go- you are a great inspiration. I'm just a baby compared to you - only 19 days quit for me but it sure is nice to be a non-smoker on the Great Smoke Out Day. First time since i was a teenager I didn't have to listen to the spill about quitting cigs- sure feels good!

Couldn't agree more.... hated, hated, hated Smoke Out day!

Quitting smoking is the hardest thing I've ever done.... but it proved to me that I am capable of accomplishing "hard things" THAT feels even better than the fact that I no longer smoke.
