Lifetime Momentum #17

Thursday, November 18, 2010

What a day. I have spent almost all day at work trying to help my manager figure out how I can get my paycheck. I just started as a Full-Time employee on November 1st for the company I have been contracting for since March. We happened to have a re-organization of the company on my start date, so this meant that I was hired to report to one manager and ended up reporting to another. In the process though, no-one filed all the paperwork to get me added to the payroll system. Now it's my third week and I'm supposed to get my first paycheck tomorrow, but it seems that in a company this large, no-one knows how to make that happen since the automated payroll system didn't process me. I have been assured I will get paid, but no-one knows when. They have told me that once they figure out how, then I will have to wait on FedEx to deliver it since I live and work in Ohio and our HR department is in California. What a headache!

Otherwise, things are going ok today. I am struggling without my usual dose of caffiene. I drank WAY too much soda and have cut it out entirely in favor of drinking my water. I am feeling the effects of caffiene withdrawl, but I know it will be worth it once this stage is over. I have gone cold turkey before and it's hard at first, but way I feel once I'm soda free is amazing.

Nutrition yesterday was good. I came in at 1844 calories. I would like to stay in the 1800-2000 cal range for a while and then decrease down to about 1600-1800.

Got up and made it to the gym this morning. Did 90 minutes in the pool. It wasn't as intense as the last few days, but still felt good. I decided to back off a little today rather than take a day off to rest as I have done in the past. I know I need some recovery times in my routine, but I'm going to try to just do some lighter days rather than just taking the days off.

Never Stop Moving!

I don't know how long I would be willing to work for free. LOL.

I gave up caffeine years ago and don't regret it.

Your calories and exercise sound great!

When I first started this lifestyle change going on 4 years ago, I cut out my sodas. I thought it would be the hardest thing for me to do that considering I never drank water...yuck...and drank 3 to 5 diet sodas per day. But, once I set my mind to it I really didn't find it that difficult. Now for the most part I drink water, water and more water with maybe one soda per week if that.

Hope your payroll issue gets fixed quickly.

You sound amazingly patient re: your paycheck considering you are caffiene free!
Good for you - maybe it was that workout this AM - working out does amazing things to us besides building muscle. It's good that you know you need recovery time - but never stop moving is a key. That's where you change up your routine - maybe on those "lighter" days toss in a little strength training! You sound like you have a good plan going, keep up the good work!
