Got in another run last night, same as Monday. Stretching, followed by 1 minute walking to loosen up. Then 30 minutes running, followed by 2 minutes walking and more stretching. 2.5 miles total, 2.3 in a continuous run. It felt good. My calf muscles tend to feel a little tired a few minutes in, but that passes quickly. Probably should do more stretching there. Maybe extend the initial walk a few more minutes?
I plan to repeat this time/distance once more time this week. Depending on how I feel, I may go a few minutes more. Then next week, I want to change it up a little. I want to add a long run day - so will shorten another day slightly. Perhaps Mon 2.3 miles, Wed 2 miles, Fri 2.75 miles.
I am regularly doing leg strengthening exercises a several times a week. Squats, walking lunches, and so forth. I know that will help my running program as well.
