Ok Jillian- I'll do it....

Wednesday, November 17, 2010

Well, I read Jillian Michaels book last winter about diet and metabolism. I was very excited about it. I knew it was "the truth". The main gist of the book says that you cannot expect to put chemicals and garbage into your body and have your body run like a high performance machine. I am the life-time dieter who has eaten every mystery food. Have you ever looked at the label of some diet pop? It will say no fat, no calories, no anything- yeah just highly addictive teeth-altering, mind-altering, body-altering chemicals and acids. I read it but I just didn't commit to doing it. I was scared. Scared to fail.

That is history now-bygones. I started Monday. I will do 10 days hard core- I have excluded all meat in addition to Jillian's list to help get a good cleanse in.

Briefly my 10 day program is
*NO Processed foods.
*No artificial flavors or sweeteners.
*Only WHOLE grains. (It takes a little longer to cook-but very tasty)
*Fruits and veggies.
*Legumes. No additional fats. No dairy.

I had two straight days of withdrawl headaches. Hard to say if it was the my body screaming for sugar or a diet coke. Today I feel like I am making progress and truly enjoying the flavor of foods.

Here's to my health!

Good for you! I only read half of the book, but loved what I read. She wasn't telling me anything new - I have been an advocate of clean eating for years now and shop mostly organic and nothing processed. I've never thought that artificial sweeteners were okay - they cause abnormal brain waves and seizures! So... if I know all this then why can't I lose weight.... why are we all here? lol. Motivation and follow thru... keep on going! I am excited to see what your 10 days hard core does for you! Keep me posted!
