10% - I can do that!

So my long-term goal is to lose 30% of my body weight from where I am today. That’s 40 pounds and the number is just downright scary to me. I’m currently losing about a pound a week (which is great, don’t get me wrong) and 40 weeks seems like such a long time.

So for now, I’m aiming for 10%. This article really put things in perspective for me. 10% is 17 pounds, so at my current rate 17 weeks. Which is still a long time. But 17 pounds is doable. If I can even manage an extra half pound a week, that will bring it down to just over 11 weeks. I’ve been tracking calories and exercising for a while now, but most weeks it is a 5 day a week thing. The weekends get a little crazy. Knowing that my goal is that much closer might give me the extra little push I need to really start following the program.

Losing 10% of my weight will boost my energy and performance and have a number of health benefits. So that is where I am starting. And I know that I can get there.
