Good Day

Wednesday, November 17, 2010

Today was a good day- at least no one in the house seems to be sick anymore! Bought a ton of groceries so the house is fully stocked with good food and Thanksgiving Fair. I didn't exercise today so I want to make sure I get some time in tomorrow.
Bought some Christmas presents for Noah and a high chair for Toby. Toby has been quite resentful of not eating at the table, hopefully this will help all of us eat our meals at the table (I've gotten rather lazy letting Noah eat in the living room- not to mention myself :) Here's to hoping this improves our bad habit.

I am so thankful that I can afford to buy healthy food- it is a stretch financially but at least it is something we can do. So many people find that they must tend toward the processed crap because it is so expensive. We have made the effort to spend more, but it isn't easy for us. I wish as a country the US would make organic and whole foods more attainable to all. It might go a long way to healing many of the health problems we face as a nation. Whole Foods, the Farmer's Market & our local farmers are really helping me understand what it is to keep it local (perhaps not Whole Foods, but they are getting more regional stuff in thank goodness). Here's hoping I can instill these food values to our kids instead of the fast food I was raised with.

If you keep buying organic, someone will grow it and it will drive the price down. Consumer demand means more farmers will turn to organic growing.
Love your background picture!! Have a great day!
