My job IS to get healthy Day 7
I was deeply sleeping this morning when I was awakened by laughter. My husband was openly overwhelmed with hilarity to the point of tears running down his face. Now, realize, I was in a deep sleep, and he had been too, having come home from working night shift around dawn.
"I hit it! I hit the bus with a bowling ball and got a strike! When I hit the nose of the bus, all the windows smashed in like dominoes. I got a strike and everybody cheered!"
Puzzled, I didn't join in the laughter yet, but I was mighty grinning. Anybody laughing that hard is contagious! Except, I could barely move because in contrast to him, I woke in such extreme back pain I could barely roll over to try to get up. My cat, Peaches, came running to the rescue, checking to see if I was ok.
So, picture this, my husband is laughing big belly laughs with tears and all. I am just trying to get up out of bed and moaning with each move, and the cat is meowing trying to climb on top of me to make sure I am alright.
Once I could move, I began making verbal symbolic interpretations that honestly had ME rolling in laughter. See, my husband does drive a bus, but has been given an opportunity for advancement and is training for promotion. He took that bowling ball and hit his target right on, opening the windows of opportunity, and everybody cheered. Whenever I have asked my dear man what he likes about bus driving he says :"You know I am such a little guy (5'1" - taller than me) and I get behind the wheel of this huge great vehicle and I make it go. It's such a rush." This was not an answer I expected to hear from my husband who loves preaching (yes he loves it more than bus driving). It makes me think of little boys who love to play with their toy trucks. The feeling never dies.
I love my husband's attitude. He really IS so positive about everything (almost to a fault), and he has a huge sense of humor.
In the midst of all this hilarity, I excused myself for a bathroom break. His answer "I will probably be sleeping when you get back."
Yes, in a matter of minutes, the laughter brought about by his window shattering dream had subsided as my husband fell back into dreams and sleep and snores. It was time for me to get up and do my morning physical therapy home routine. Boy, did I need it to get my body moving this morning. My back needed those stretches . Yet, due to dreaming big and laughing out loud, my attitude was light, positive and determined, and I was smiling all through the 26 minutes of weights and stretching.
When you hit the target, windows of opportunity often will burst open.
Dream BIG and wake up laughing!
