Done Week 1 of Push

I finished week 1 of push.

I've been doing a hybrid of Chalean and Turbofire and really loving it. I do Fire 30, 45, and 55 EZ in between the ST and try to add a HIIT to one lifting day. I do abs after lifting on Sunday.

I see myself getting tighter, too. It's noticeable. I had this weird belly that was puffy below the chest line, making me look six months prego. But that has gone down. Unfortunately, I didn't measure that area in the beginning, but it's now the same as my waist. My waist didn't go down at all, but the puffiness above has gone down considerably.

My sixteen year old told me (kindly) I now look only three months pregnant. I told her when you are 3 months pregnant, you aren't showing, unless it's your eighth child or you are expecting twins :)

The scale has never been my friend. I get depressed if after working out 6x a week, logging every bit of food and being careful to be within my calorie limit, I find myself getting on the scale and seeing a fraction of a lb. lost.

That's what happened this week, so I am choosing to focus on my energy and my strength this week, not the weight loss.

So here's to the non-scale wins...

Hoisting myself off the couch is effortless now.

Taking out the garbage, I feel my new-found muscles flexing as lift the bag from the can.

After a Costco run, picking up boxes of sterno fuel, wet-wipes and diapers and hauling them to and from the car- easy shmeesy.

Walking up 7 flights of stairs, I can do it in one straight go and not rest on the fourth floor.

And my 42 year old sister, who runs every day and is a size 2, and has been encouraging me to pick up fitness and diet again after the baby, was so pumped to watch me lift weights and do Push 3.

She told me she can see a difference, I am much tighter now. And she's so pleased I found a way of working out that fits in my budget, both financial and time-wise.

I call her the weight psychic. She knows exactly what people weigh, she can eyeball you and tell you what you weigh. Most people look at me and will say I look like I weigh about 10 lbs. less than I do - I think it's the way I carry the weight - but she ALWAYS knows. It's freaky.

So all these things are good, and I am going to call this a good week. On to week 2!
