Getting Healthy IS my job: days 2 Work out with a buddy + day 3 get your rest

Friday, November 12, 2010

I was so busy on Wednesday, I didn't get on til late, and then, SP was down for upgrades. So, Thursday came around and I was so busy, I didn't get on til late, then realized 2 days down.

Getting healthy IS my job Day 2: Work out with a buddy

Peaches, my cat, senses my pain, and when I had woken up, so did the pain. Doing 90% of my morning PT with a cat on my breasts is kind of awkward, but comforting in its own way. He is warm, he is heavy, he is soft and enticing to be pet, and he purrs and rubs my hands back when I pet him. He smiles. But, when I went to wrap my wrist weights around my wrists, he skidaddled. That's ok, the thing is he was there giving me warmth and support, or is it the other way around. He really did make me smile first thing in the morning, and that was way special.

Since my older son, his wife and baby were coming for supper, in fact, they were bringing supper, I didn't have to cook. I made limits for myself on the computer and kept them on Wednesday. (Today, I did not. - it makes a difference.)

And don't forget to laugh. Since we do not have a high chair, we secured babycakes into my new computer chair using my sweatshirt as a belt. He was tickled to be sitting in a chair next to us at the table. He didn't even try to get out until the end of supper. He loves for me to take his picture!

Getting healthy IS my job Day 3: Get your rest

Although I may not fall asleep as early as I would like, I have been getting up earlier than I had been, and still getting 7-8 hours sleep. Since I had an extra workout yesterday by playing wii rock band - singing and dancing - with my son, I took it on the light side today. I still did my morning PT, and went on the wii fit plus for a brief 12 minutes. The rest of the day was made up of bill paying, budget setting, waiting for the mechanic to come and replace the gas tank on my son's car, making a healthy hot soup for all the guys to eat once they were done with the car after 6, and finishing the rest of "city of Ember" on the DVR. For the soup, I keep a zippered freezer bag in the freezer for little bits of leftovers - rice, chopped onions, chicken, etc., then when it is full, I make a soup. It had mushrooms, celery, carrots, green beans, a little noodles, chicken, cauliflower, and rice. It was sooo good.

Then, at midnight, my son decided he would like me to fix a pair of his skinny ripped jeans. Trying to sew a knee rip on skinny jeans is not fun, especially at midnight. But, it is done.

My husband's note to me to get him up.

Missions accomplished:
Fixed jeans
Fixed gas tank
Fixed good soup
