I’m Not Perfect, But That Might Be A Good Thing

Ok, so today I weight myself and I’m up a bit. The Wii Fit has all kinds of helpful pokes as me. First, it asks why I gained. Then, it says I might be eating more because it is cold out. Hmmmm…could be that I’m surrounded by chocolate and I have the sweet tooth of Mr. Willy Wonka himself. The other thing that got me was just how much I could eat because I worked out an extra 100 calories over my goal. I would snack on this and snack on that. I would tell myself, I worked out extra hard today, so I can eat. Hahaha. Yeah, sounds good in theory.

Realistically, I do need to cut down my calorie burn goals for the week. Burning 1000 calories a day was a lot easier when I was 40 pounds heavier. Don’t get me wrong here. Running 4 miles is a lot easier now than when I was 40 pounds heavier. However, the calorie burn was a lot higher. It seemed if I walked a block, it burned 500 calories. Maybe not quite, but that is what it seemed. Now, I have to work for about an hour more to get that same burn. So, no wonder I’m always hungry. I’m always moving. Might sound like a good thing, but I know my body needs rest too.

So this post is just to let you all know I’m not perfect, which I think is helpful. If you are like me, I hate perfect people. Good for them, yeah, but doesn’t do much for me. So now, I’m admitting to my imperfections so you all can love me, just the way I am.

What am I going to do now? Well, lower my calorie burn goals and see if that makes me less hungry. I’m also going to go over my portion controls. I am thinking that I’ve been a little liberal with those scoops. Again, thinking that my extra 100 calorie burn is going to cover every BLT (bite, lick, taste) that I do while cooking or prepping food.

On a side note, I got a new fitness buddy last night. It is a three-eyed robot with four ears. I’ll let you all kick that around for a bit. Hopefully I’ll be back on tomorrow or Sunday to update you on what I’m referring to.

    You're doing a fine job, oh great leader......Even after three years of maintaining weight loss, I don't always get it right......I've been spending the past three weeks losing those extra few pounds that crept up on me during all the activities and celebrating that surrounded my recent wedding.....And I should know better, but alas, I'm not perfecr either. (What a relief). Thanks to Sparkpeople, it's easier to get back on track than if I was out here alone........

    It's not about perfection, it's about progress and persistence. The BLT comment was inventive.

    It's good to reassess and adjust your goals. As our bodies change, so should our goals.

    Good to know no one is perfect! Funny how those little tastes add up to so much more then we realise isn't it!

    Have a wonderful week, you'll kick it next WI, I hate when the wii fit gets snotty with me for gaining so I set my goal at like lose 20lbs in a year, now it just shuts up when I gain and has me reset it when I hit the goal...
