Well, I'm back on a fitness plan, but it's a very modified one as I had a c-section 6 weeks ago. I'm also breastfeeding and apparently it's better to lose weight very slowly so it doesn't affect the quality of the milk. My doctor has given me the ok to exercise 3 times per week for 20-30 minutes. We'll see how that goes and then build up from there.
My stubborn personality has a hard time with needing to start so slowly, but I know I need to be patient with myself and do what is healthiest for me and for my son. I am happy to be participating fully on Sparkpeople again, and I'm finally starting to feel like a fully functioning human being again!
Sleep is a rare and precious thing with a 6 week old baby to look after, but I'm doing my best to get as much as I can. I nap when hubby is home and at night I manage to get about 7 hours but it is broken up into 2-3 hour chunks. Ronan is starting to sleep for longer stretches, so I'm hoping that I'll be down to one early morning feeding sometime in the next month or two.
I'm also enjoying my time off from work. It's helping me gain some perspective on the kind of job I'd like to have. I'm trying to figure out if I can make my current job more enjoyable somehow or if I should take the leap now and start my own business or look for a different place to work.
Anyway, I'm happy to be getting back in the game and I look forward to catching up with all of you!
