An injury can be a learning lesson too......

I know it sounds weird and maybe it's just my twisted mind..but I try to find the good in everything and's just harder sometimes than last injury was a pulled or torn groin muscle....not good if your main excercise is running..and that's how I got it...rushed a stretch and over pulled the wrong muscle...that was 8-9months I'm pretty pain free...I never visited a dr. over it..I prayed many times over it...I took many over the counter pills over it..but it never would go I thought what do you have a computer for..I googled it...ok I'm not the only person who this has happened to...but what do I do now...most wanted to sell you something usually around 100-150 dollars that would cure it for sure...I did my share of R.I.C.E..I didn't run for 3 months after the injury..much...anyway...what I learned through this was patience...things take time to might relaps even now...who knows...what I do know that really helped was when I felt that I gave it plenty of time to heal properly...I would run hard...then stretch....then ice....then heat...over the months I felt like that did the best for my pulled groin muscle....I don't suggest anyone pulling it just to see how it feels won't like it....take it from me.... emoticon emoticon

    I stumbled upon your page through a mutual friend. I too have learned from my injury. Patience is a great lesson and I also learned that diet is a HUGE part of losing weight and living a healthy lifestyle. Great blog. Kinda funny we both posted the same type of blog.     Actually I learned a lot after my injury in May. (I wouldn't have chose it but...)

    I learned that if I take the time to let it heal--often the body is able to repair itself.

    I learned that there are other exercises that can be done when the primary one is taken away.

    I learned that diet is also a BIG part of losing weight.

    I learned that when I positively do what I can, the rest comes along.

    As with most injuries, time and patience. So glad you are feeling better and able to do the things most important to you.
