Fall 5% Challenge Day 34

Today I went for a massage for the first time in 5 years. I'd been looking forward to it all week. I have some old injuries in my neck, back and foot that really have my muscles fighting with each other. I've just put up with it for a long time. My flexibility has been declining even though I do make an effort to address it. I knew I was tight but I had no idea just how bad it was. My appointment was for 12:30 and I didn't leave until 2:35! The therapist concentrated on my hamstrings, my back, hips, neck and shoulders. She found tight, sore places I didn't even suspect I had. After just one session (granted a marathon one) my range of motion in my back, shoulders and neck is much improved. I still need work. I'm going back on Tuesday. I can hardly wait! I just know that this treatment is going to make a huge difference in the way I feel and in how well my body can perform. It's exciting to know I may not have to settle for feeling so much older than my actual age. Who knows I might become as spry as my 83 year old mother! Who knew that would be a goal I would aspire to at this time in my life!
On the challenge front. I have been doing okay exercise wise. I've been pretty good in the Living the Good Life department. But my eating has been spotty, (not terrible but not great) It's been showing on the weigh ins the last few times. I'm not gaining but I'm not really losing either. So this week I'm really getting serious about my food. It's the extra snacking that's doing me in. They are good snacks but I'm just having too many. I'm determined to make the last 3 weeks of this challenge more productive than the previous ones. Jeez I've only lost 2.2 pounds throughout the whole challenge so far.
I'm also hoping to bump up my exercise a little. I have 2 ringette games this week so that should help. I'm really looking forward to the start of the season. Now I just have to make sure I stay out of the beer bag!
Shooting Stars I hope you are all primed for the race to the Rockies. It's almost in my neighbourhood. Only 1000 miles away!
