I've lost 8 lbs but had a small setback. Medications to a skin allergy caused an 11# wt gain
. Horrible feeling. That's where the 8.5# comes in. Small set back but I'm healthy and happy.
In Aug, dr said that my cholesterol was reaching the high end of the range. He prescribed fish oil, fiber,and fitness. Fish oil is horrible if you take the large doses 3x day as indicated. I can only tolerate one 1000mg capsule. I started using flax seed on a daily basis. I've increased my activity to 4x per wk for 30 mins. It isn't always cardio but it's some form of movement. I didn't even turn on the tv yesterday! LOL
One of my grad school projects is a behavior change. So I incorporated the Dr's 3 F's into my project. It's worked since I'm accountable in 2 different ways. Project is due early Dec. I go back in Feb for a cholesterol check.
A friend contacted me about a wt loss challenge at a local nutrition studio. I joined and so far I'm in 2nd place. I was leading until last week but I intend to get my 1st place status back in the next week!
The local nutrition studio is an Herbalife distributor. I've learned a great deal about nutrition, not just about their products. The owners are just great...very helpful, caring, and funny couple.
I am eating so much better these days. I purchase fresh fruits and veggies from a local produce/farmers market. I sleep better. Have more energy. Stress has decreased. Not just losing weight but losing inches. My clothes and I are getting along much better these days!
And in case anyone was wondering....an apple a day does keep the dr away! Apples are one of the few fruits that I like and will eat daily. Last Friday, I thought I was getting a cold. I had been exposed to several cold-ridden friends. I took a nap and felt better within 2 hours. I was back on the move the very next day. EAT YOUR FRUITS!
