Grr, argh. emoticon

All of my best laid plans - gonna log into SP, gonna blog 3x/week, gonna do this or that - keep getting pushed back by other things. Drat.

Right now, I'm keeping it on the level, though, so that's something - especially when all I want to be is face-down in a giant bowl of pasta. Or cake. Or whatever.

Did get to see Bill and Karen and meet a new SP-er Jess (CRAZYLINDSEY) at the post-race meal after the Columbus marathon/half. Yay!

Finished PT on the hip and knee - they are still terribly painful but it does seem like they are healing with rest and stretching.

Woke up on Tuesday with very blurry vision in my left eye. Cleaning the contact didn't help and my pupils were not in sync (the left was HUGE while the right was normal. Freaky!) so I called the opthamalogist. Ugh - retinoscopy showed a nice lake of blood in the back of my eye. Fluorscoping revealed a LOT of little leaking blood vessels and so I will be scheduling laser surgery to cauterize those bad boys. Oh, diabetes, will you never quit.

Have signed up for the Flying Feather and will likely be running the Buckeye 10K this fall. What are you going to do when the weather gets colder??

Take care of yourself! Both the eye and the knee/hip. Sorry we couldn't make it to the lunch but with David's accident it's hard to go places. Hope to catch up with everyone soon!

I'm thinking the Buckeye 10K and the Flying Feather as well. I've been thinking of joining MIT, but maybe not until after this next session.

Bummer about the eye, but at least there's a plan to fix it! I'd rather get cavities filled than go to the eye doctor because I'm so afraid of what my very friendly optometrist is going to find in there. Sigh.

Cold is here already (Fairbanks, Alaska) but I've not let it slow me down much yet. I do think I am probably done biking for the season, but I've got heaps of layers to mix and match to keep me (mostly) warm walking/running down to -40*F. Not that I want to do that often, but I can if I have to. Halloween Run, Turkey Trot, New Year's Eve Run and a few random others ought to keep me from getting too soft this winter, and I'm hoping I make a solid effort to do strength training on a regular basis. We'll see though....

Sorry to hear about the eye.

I plan to layer appropriately with wicking fabrics and keep running outside.
