Gardening is therapy

Today was a good day. The weather was perfect for working outside. I put in a raised bed over the summer in the front yard. And I've been waiting for the right time to plant my seeds. I planted different seeds last weekend. I can already see some sprouts. Excited!! I transplanted some plants today, just moved them from the back garden to the front yard. I already have a lizard living in the new garden, at least one that I know of. They are amazing pets. I don't have to build a cage to keep them in. They just live in the yard and when I am out, they come out to visit...LOL. They're not cuddly but they sure are cute. I have at least one living in the back garden too and he is getting bigger. They like to hide in between the retaining wall bricks.
The hummingbirds are everywhere. I read somewhere that for every hummingbird you see at your feeder, there are six. Today there were three at one time. Does that mean there are eighteen that come to the feeder? The Anna's are back and I am hoping to get some good pictures this year. The pictures I've been taking lately look pretty grainy so I might have to get another camera...I'm not in the mood though.
You might wonder what does gardening and wildlife have to do with losing weight? Well, for me it has everything to do with it. That's what makes me happy and I can't lose weight when I'm not happy. I almost forgot to eat today. That never happens when I'm indoors all the time.
I really wanted to practice a new song for Zumba Gold class tomorrow but I wanted to be outside too. I have a choice now, which I haven't had for months. Garden? Or Zumba? I was able to talk myself out of overeating tonight. I've been known to give in to that temptation. I've been drinking green tea in the evening and it really helps me.
I had 21 people in my class on Wednesday. I used my own amp because the only guy who knows how to run the music system didn't know what was causing my problem. He told me it must be my iPod. I told him it worked perfectly on Monday. Hmmmmm.....he is going to work on it. I will bring my amp as a backup for a while now.
