Quit the Gym

Tuesday, October 19, 2010

Before anyone goes nutz, yes, I quit the gym. No, I'm not giving up. Just had been paying a monthly fee and not using the gym, so for the time being, terminated my membership. Wasteful to pay and not go. I can always reinstate my membership with life settles down. Working my full time job and doing my part-time job so very little time to work out.

Stepped on a "hedge ball" or whatever you call those large green things that fall off trees - - this past weekend with the foot that I broke in January. OUCH and double OUCH. Still a lot of tenderness there. Trying to walk as much as I can and planning on implementing some exercises at home for the time being. Seems like I do a lot of stairs, as soon as I get in the basement I have to go to the bathroom and/or what I need is always on the other level so I'm running up and down the stairs all evening. Stair-steppin' :) Not giving up, not giving in, I will shed these pounds and feel better about myself.

:)

I agree, why pay for it if it's not going to be used. Wow, full time and part time job, just try to get in some exercise for your own sanity. It can help relieve stress.

We call them "hedge apples" around here. WOW! It's amazing that you didn't take a spill on it!

Yes... spending money at the gym doesn't help.

Nice to hear from you again!

We always called those things porcupine eggs! I'd step on one in our drive way and start sliding down the hill. I keep wanting to join a gym but I don't want to just to find out I don't like it. Also the ones in my area have bad reviews, especially when it comes to cancelling membership!

I understand that you quit the gym. Sometimes life is just way too hectic to find time to go. I prefer exercising in the fresh air also, I love to walk! I enjoy being in the fresh air, surrounded by beautiful scenery, and it's a LOT cheaper also :)

So sorry about your foot. That does sound very painful! I hope you recover quickly, take good care of yourself!

Have a great day and week!

    Hugs,
