Virus and stuff...

My youngest daughter comes home from school Thursday afternoon with a rash over her back and right side of her chest, which she says itches. So I give her benadryl an put cortizone on the rash.
She wakes up Friday morning, and the rash has spread, it no covers even more of her back and chest, up her neck and into her hair and under her chin, so I call the doctor's office and since it is spreading even with treatment, they want to see her, but the first appointment they can get her into is not until 10:30 am. So I did something I have never done before, I went ahead and sent her to school and sent a note that I would pick her up at 10am. Then I went to the gym and worked out!
I picked her up from school and took her to the doctor, and they looked at it and decided it was a virus presenting itself as a rash. They did a streph test, which came out negative so they told me she was free to go back to school, but since we had missed her lunch, we went to Bob Evans to eat. She got chocolate pancakes, bacon and smiley potatoes, and she ate everything. I got my normal cobb salad.
I took her back to school, and it was just after noon, and I am scheduled to volunteer every Friday at 1:15pm, so I just stayed at school and volunteered some extra time. Then I came home and did some reading with my son.
Sunday evening my daughter kept telling us that she felt sick, that her stomach hurt, and we just kept an eye on her and she really seemed find. She went to bed, but about one am she climbed into my bed and proceeded to throw up all over it. Why do kids do that? When they feel sick, they come to your bed and get sick on you, although I have to say, at least this time it was just over my bed, and not on me.
So I kept her home from school today, which is messing with my routine. On a normal day, my husband would have been able to watch her so that I could have went to the gym, but today is not a normal day, my husband got called to jury duty today, and had to be at the courthouse by 8am. So now, I am home with a child that was throwing up overnight, but acting perfectly find now, I can't get to the gym, and I have so much to catch up on after the weekend. Oh the joys of being a parent, but on the up side, no girl scout meeting tonight (if she was too sick to go to school, she is too sick to go to girl scouts).
