Not much posting/recording yesterday...

My brother's house burnt down to the ground, early yesterday morning. Thankfully, they weren't home - they would have never made it out if they were, it seems the house went so fast. A very upsetting day, so I spent a lot of it, focused on them and on my mom (and my dad). They live on the same farm, so it was a fire truck that woke Mom up and she was very shaken and needed lots of love and support, yesterday. I live two hours away from them, so I was feeling rather helpless and useless, but I did end up making lots of phone calls, yesterday.
My daughter, Sarah, and her fiance were also moving into their new apartment, yesterday, so I was on the phone a few times with her, as well.
If I wasn't already busy and perplexed enough, I also got called into work, which having that as a distraction might have been very beneficial, anyway. :-) All in all, though, it means that I didn't post or log very much here.
I'm pretty resilient, so it does take a lot to shake me. We are all so thankful that everyone is safe and that all that was lost is all replaceable. The house is the one that my Grandpa bought and moved there when he first came to Canada in 1929 and I was raised on the same farm, so it is sad to see the house go. A new chapter in our family is about to begin. I wish my brother and his family the very best.
