A Week Off from a Lifestyle Change???

How do you take a "week off" from a lifestyle change? Well, I did...somewhat anyway. This week, I experienced a personal and professional loss of a woman I greatly admired. I gave myself permission to go off my diet, exercise, and college classes for a week. I still somewhat watched what I ate, but did give into ice cream and brownies one night and chocolate truffles daily. Oh, how I will miss my truffles. I find myself renewed tonight. I think I needed the break from the strict dieting and busy schedules of college classes and exercise routines. I did however have to go to work...that doesn't stop. ;)
I need to get back on track with my normal routine again. Who is up for joining me?

    I am sorry to hear you suffered a loss. I think it's normal to need a period of time to "check out" and cope at times. It doesn't mean your journey is any less life-changing. What will happen, over time, is that you'll realize that your breaks become less different from your program because your lifestyle truly will be changed. (And I'm with you. I've been traveling the better part of a month, and I am SO ready to get home and get back into a normal routine.)

    Sorry about your loss. Don't feel too guilty about taking time off of everything. Sometimes sorting out our emotions and feelings is the most important thing we can do in our lives.

    It's important to say on track however. I noticed you said "...I still somewhat watched what I ate." Would you have done that before you started Sparking? That's lifestyle change progress.

    sorry about your loss. you totally have the right to take a week off for that. don't even think about feeling guilty about the ice cream, brownies and the truffles...
    i had some ice cream today myself and not the suggested 1/2 cup serving, but a whole cup. but then i picked myself up and dragged myself to the gym. calories in / calories out - that's what it's all about.
