Okay, I'm definitely feeling a lot of pressure about losing the rest of this weight. I'm making it more about the scale than anything!! While I'll continue to get on the scale weekly, I'm going to start enjoying the weight I've already lost and stop complaining about the fact that I haven't lost much in the last 2 months! I hit the 170s at the end of August, it is now almost the end of October and I'm only 3 lbs down! Clearly I'm not going to make my goal to be 160 by my birthday on November 14th, but I'm setting a new goal! I want to get down to 160 by Jan.1st. If I don't make it...Oh well! I'm just going to set the goal and go for it anyway! Time to enjoy the 40+ lbs that I've already lost. emoticon

Look, the scale can't talk, so why LISTEN to it? The mirror never says a word, but we tend to LISTEN to it as gospel testimony to who and what we are. I am not advocating we ignore them, but please remember, they are inanimate things that can'r talk. Now YOU? YOU can talk. Watch what you say? Words CAN hurt, if you shoot yourself down about not making a 160 goal by your birthday. Lift yourself up with your words about the progress you have made so far. Your pics depict a remarkable transformation. YOU did this. YOU put in the time, the effort, and the drive. What did the scale do? Nothing! What did the mirror do? Nothing! So I implore you, don't listen to them. Listen you YOUR self. Look at YOU for what you have accomplished, and plan to continue. Take solace in what you have, at this point. You look BEAUTIFUL! And I am very proud of you, dear SparkFriend. Everyone here has offered you terrific advice. I truly hope my advice is equally as helpful.

Remember, as you are toning up, fat becomes muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat, so THAT could be why your weight loss has slowed down. (Notice that scale never says THAT!) The mirror can sometimes have you thinking there is no progress, but your clothes do not lie. Your dress size is dropping, so you KNOW you are making progress. Check yourself in the mirror, sure. But don't JUDGE yourself in the mirror. Monitor your weight on the scale, of course. But don't elephant-foot your satisfaction of your remarkable progress by mere numbers on a scale. You continue to reach for the stars. Until you actually grab one, you are STILL jumping yourself into total physical fitness, and you might even take a few of us inspired ones with you. Make yourself into the one God intended, and be blessed by it. Cheers!

Thanks for the comments all!! Baileysmom4 and Jen40311, I have tried changing it up a little, but I will probably start more strength training. And I'm going to start eating more fruits and veggies and drinking more water. Thanks for the encouragement and compliments!! emoticon

I agree with your concept of enjoying your success thus far. I think sometimes we tend to focus on losing the weight within a specific time frame and get discouraged when we don't meet our goal. Who says we have to set a time limit? It's important to make some changes to get the results you want but also go at your own pace.
